PM’s Fee Reimbursement Scheme 2018 – Check Eligibility Criteria and Apply Online (Registration has been Started). In order to strengthen the Government’s vision to escalate the level of education and to make it approachable for each aspiring individual, the “Higher Education Commission (HEC)” has announced the “Prime Minister’s Fee Reimbursement Program for Session 2018.” Under the said scheme the students currently enrolled in post-graduate colleges or universities and undergoing their semester/academic session, while belonging to the less developed or remote areas of the country are supposed to be uplifted by rewarding them with a full fee refund. These financial aspects of the scheme are mandatory to be considered, and they are under the heads covered by PMFRS such as a tuition fee, registration fee, admission fee (for newly admitted students), library charges (non-refundable) and laboratory charges. The List of Less Developed Areas:

The individuals from the following areas are eligible for the fee reimbursement.

  • Entire Regions of Balochistan, AJ & K, FATA, Gilgit Baltistan, Interior Sindh and South Punjab.
  • Punjab Districts – Attock, Bhakkar, Khushab and Mianwali.
  • KPK – Chitral, Dir (Lower & Upper), Buner, Swat, Shangla, Malakand, Kohistan, D.I Khan, Lakki Marwat, Batgram, Kala Dhaka (Torghar), Bannu, Kohat, Hangu and Karak.
  • Refugees of Jammu & Kashmir.

Eligibility Criteria:

Following students are eligible to apply.

  1. Domicile holders of less developed areas (mentioned above).
  2. Students from HEC recognized universities and post-graduate colleges situated less developed areas.
  3. Ph.D. students enrolled in public sector universities or public degrees awarding institutions.
  4. MS/MPhil students from institutions in less developed areas.
  5. Students enrolled in Evening programs where the fee structure is similar to that of morning programs.

Ineligibility Terms:

Following are not eligible to apply.

  1. Domiciled in the area/areas not mentioned as less developed.
  2. Students enrolled in self-finance or distance learning.
  3. Students already availing any other scholarships.
  4. Students enrolled under any diploma or Bachelor’s degree programmes.

Registration Process:

Students are required to apply online by filling up the registration form provided. Once the respective university or college approves the candidature of the student as per the eligibility criteria of the scheme, he/she will be accepted for the award; hence students in their own favor, are advised to get their applications approve by the focal person of the university/college.
