Every year numbers of scholarships are awarded for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate as well as the doctoral degrees. Similarly, The Xi’an Jiaotong University is offering a scholarship program for Pakistan/Aj&K nationals to pursue Masters and Ph.D. programmes in the institute above this year too. The students are first required to make applications online; once after the approval and selection from the university and completion of the whole procedure, the students will be provided with the complementary educational facilities, which means No Tuition Fees at all, moreover, the living cost will also be met. The Xi’an Jiaotong University is a paramount educational institution in China, with top-notch research facilities for the engineering, science, management, economics and medical studies, Over and above, it is running these programmes under the supervision of HEC.

Currently various Master’s & Ph.D. courses available for Pakistani/AJ&K Nationals, however, six candidates will be offered the Master’s Degree Scholarship programme, and only four seats are allocated for the applicants of Ph.D. Scholarship programme. Thus, the places are limited, that is why applicants are recommended to make sure to add all the mandatory and required documents in the application and fall under the eligibility criteria.

Eligibility Criteria:

Pakistani/AJ&K National.
Dual Nationality holders may refrain from applying for this programme.
Applicant has to be Medically fit.
Currently not enrolled in any other Scholarship program.

The applicant for Master’s Degree:

Must have completed at least 16 years of education, i.e., only a Bachelor’s Degree holder qualifies to apply for this programme.
Under 35 years of age.
Completed the course in 1st Division.

The applicant for Doctoral Degree:

Must have successfully completed 18 years of education, i.e., only a Master’s Degree holder can get enrolled in this course.
Under 40 years of age.
Done or hold any research accomplishments.

How to apply

First of all the applicants must make sure that they fall on the eligibility criteria and have all the required documents, as in case the candidate lacks any single the supporting document, wistfully it will result in the rejection of the application. Thus in order to apply for this scholarship programme, the applicants are required to submit the online application to the HEC website as well as on the Xi’an Jiaotong webpage. Withal, Rs. 300/– have to be deposited to the HEC online account and the receipt is required to be attached with the supporting documents.

Students will have to submit the required documents to HEC along with the application forms, which is then required to be sent to the Xi’an Jiaotong University and the documents will be assessed by the institute and the pre-selected candidates will undergo an interview. Afterward, the final selection will be done by the university itself and the list will be displayed on HEC and XJTU webpages.

Pre-selected candidates will have to apply to HEC, and the documents will be sent to Xi’an Jiaotong University for further assessment.
An interview will be conducted for the pre-selected applicants
The selection list will be published on HEC as well as the XJTU website.
The finally selected candidates will be assisted by HEC and will be informed if any further documents are required.

Commencement of the Semester September 2018

Copy of first two pages of Passport
2 Printed Application forms (Submitted and completed on HEC Web page) signed by the applicant.
2 Printed Application forms (Submitted and completed on Xi’an Jiaotong University Website) approved by the applicant.
Original receipt of Rs. 300 that were deposited to HEC Online Account.

Domicile
IBCC Equivalence certificate for A/O level students
HEC Equivalence certificates (only applicable to the students carrying a degree previously completed in an international institution)
Copy of a medical Fitness certificate
Character certificate issued by Police
Research Proposal or Study Plan (in English/Chinese)
- 800 Words for Masters
- 1500 Words for PhD
English/Chinese Language competency proof (IELTS/TOEFL or GRE)

Note: the applicants have to provide two sets of hard copies containing the supporting documents stated above in a spiral binding.

Medical Certificate

The applicants are required to present medical fitness certificate, keep in mind that only copy of the certificate has to be submitted keep the original document with yourself; moreover, it is only valid for six months, so make sure it does not end before traveling date or prior making the application.

English/Chinese Language Proficiency

Selected students will be required to meet the language proficiency and will have to take language tests that may include IELTS/TOEFL or GRE.
